All questionsWhat is the irrevocable transfer certificate (AVI)?
The AVI, also called a bank guarantee, proves to the consulate that you have the minimum resources to live in France during your studies. The funds are blocked, then paid every month into your account in France.
How much is the AVI in 2026?
For visa applications filed since 1 August 2026, France-Visas requires at least €877.50 per month, i.e. €10,530 for 12 months. Service fees come on top of this amount.
Where are the funds held?
Your funds are held securely at Société Générale and are only used once you arrive in France, according to your support plan.
Can the consulate verify my certificate?
Yes. Each certificate carries an identifier and a QR code so the consulate or embassy can check its authenticity online, on the “Verify a certificate” page.
Is Univers France Succès a recognised company?
Univers France Succès is a French company (SAS, SIREN 983 609 264) approved by ORIAS, the single register of insurance, banking and finance intermediaries.
